Aluminum honeycomb panels consist of metal face sheets and a honeycomb core and are used in composite structures such as facades and equipment cabinets. When these panels require 90-degree corner bonding, conventional flat pressing can create a practical processing challenge: the flat area may receive sufficient pressure while the corner area remains insufficiently compressed. For Turkish aluminum honeycomb panel manufacturers, selecting a hot press that can process both flat and corner areas is therefore an important part of equipment evaluation.
Aluminum honeycomb panels have a layered structure formed by metal panels and a honeycomb core. After forming a 90-degree corner, the pressure distribution at the corner differs from that of a conventional flat panel. If the pressing system mainly applies pressure from above, the corner may not receive sufficient compression.
The Henglite right angle hot press machine uses a dedicated corner pressing structure designed to apply pressure simultaneously to the flat and 90-degree corner areas. For aluminum honeycomb and stainless steel honeycomb panels, this configuration is intended to reduce insufficient corner compression, adhesive voids and localized delamination caused by uneven bonding conditions.
The machine uses downward main pressing combined with side pressing. Its maximum main pressure is 80 tons, while the maximum side pressure is 43 tons. The hydraulic system includes five main pressing cylinders and ten side pressing cylinders for synchronized hydraulic operation.
For equipment selection, this structure is important because the machine is designed to process both the flat panel surface and the 90-degree corner area. When evaluating a press for aluminum honeycomb panel production, manufacturers should therefore consider side pressing capability rather than comparing only the main pressing tonnage.
Corner composite bonding requires not only pressure but also a suitable temperature range for the adhesive process. The machine uses electric heating with heat-transfer oil circulation. The heating system provides 72 kW per plate, with two sets for a total heating capacity of 144 kW. The temperature is adjustable from ambient temperature up to 100°C.
During equipment selection, the actual adhesive type, panel structure and curing requirements should be checked against the available temperature range. Heating power alone should not be used as the only criterion for determining suitability.
For manufacturers producing 90-degree aluminum honeycomb composite panels, three areas should be checked first. The first is whether the machine can apply synchronized pressure to both flat and corner areas. The second is whether pressure, temperature and holding time can be adjusted according to the bonding process. The third is whether the actual panel dimensions fall within the machine's working range.
The machine has an actual composite size of 6000 × 1400 × 1100 mm, with hot press plates reaching the 6500 mm class. Its PLC touch-screen control system allows operators to set pressure, temperature, holding time and cycle procedures.
For Turkish aluminum honeycomb panel production, the key selection criteria should therefore focus not only on pressing force, but on the combination of corner pressing structure, side pressure, temperature control and actual processing dimensions. Matching these parameters with the panel structure and adhesive process provides a more practical basis for evaluating whether the equipment is suitable for a specific 90-degree composite panel application.
